Green Week Recap!

Room 24 enjoyed an awesome Green Week last week! We spent our week researching on apex predators that live in water. We found out that apex predators are animals that are at the top of their food-chain. Some apex predators we researched about were orcas, barracudas, and whale sharks. Along with this we also had an opportunity to create a mural, with our buddy class Room 21, which would show importance of throwing away plastic rubbish correctly. We found out that if we don't recycle our rubbish properly it can end up being misidentified as food by ocean life. Congratulations to Yusuf and Paradise, our two award winners for Green Week! Well done Room 24! Keep up the great work!

Warriors Visit!

This Tuesday, the students of Owairaka School got an awesome surprise visit from the Vodafone Warriors! We got the chance to interact with Jazz Tevaga and Ken Maumalo. They talked to us about the importance of eating healthy, drinking water, and sleeping on time. We learnt that doing all those things helps us become stronger mentally and physically. Some lucky students from Room 24 also got the chance to earn some awesome Warriors prizes!

Swimming Fun!

Room 24 has been having a heap of fun in the newly re-opened school swimming pool, all while learning about safety and confidence in water! Students have worked with instructors and learnt about entering / exiting a pool safely, floating, and basic swimming strokes. We have also enjoyed diving for rings underwater and playing some exciting games of water polo!
